Posting criteria

Criteria
Clients who do not meet all the criteria will forfeit the rebates claimed for the consignments in question.


Destination
The articles must be intended for delivery in South Africa.


Posting criteria
The following criteria apply:
  • Minimum 1 000 articles per consignment.
  • Postal addresses must be 97 to 100 per cent correct. If a customer fails to maintain their 97 to 100 per cent correctness of addresses, they forfeit their rebates (on the mail that was disqualified) and discount.
  • Mail must be posted on the date appearing in the stamp impression on the envelope.
  • Direct tray, direct bundle and OCR mail must be presented according to the sorting criteria.
  • The address list certificate must accompany the consignment if rebates or discounts are claimed.
  • Consignments must be handed in at mail centres or at designated bulk mail post offices during normal office hours or as specially arranged.
  • A bulk mail consignment must be handed in at the same time and place.
  • Each consignment must pass the Post Office Revenue Protection inspection test (posting, quality, quantity, and Addresscheck tests).



Electronic Bulk Mail Delivery Note
An official, correctly completed Bulk Mail Processing Advice (e-BDN) must accompany mail with every truck load/consignment/ delivery/posting.


Postage
Postage on the articles must be prepaid or franked and the articles must bear the wording Permit Mail/Postage included and South Africa in the upper right-hand corner of the envelopes or wrappers or must be machine-franked.


Volumes
There may be no variance in volumes (volumes stated must be accurate).


Articles sent
All articles in a consignment must originate from the same originator, must be identical in shape, size and mass categories and the nature of the contents of the articles must be the same.It is imperative that consignments are not combined, ie client A and client B may not, through a third party (for example a mailing house) post joint consignments.


Payment
  • Payment must be made with every transaction in terms of the agreement.All debts must be settled in full on due dates without exception and customers who are in arrears with their payments will forfeit their rebates and discounts. The payment for a month's mailing is due within seven days of receipt of the monthly statement.



Noncompliance
Staff at the point where mail is accepted perform an inspection to determine whether a delivery/posting/consignment meets all criteria.
If Then
A delivery/posting/ consignment does not qualify for rebate Clients have the option of:
  • withdrawing, rectifying and representing the delivery/posting/consignment; or
  • forfeiting their rebates and discounts and posting the letters at the full prevailing postage rate (listed prices).
  • Volumes are understated The mail will not be processed until the amount due is paid.
