Types of consignment The following types of consignment may be handed in:
Criteria Clients who do not meet all the criteria will forfeit the special rate for the consignments in question. Destination The articles must be intended for delivery in South Africa. Postage Postage on the articles must be prepaid and the articles must bear the wording Postage paid and South Africa in the upper right-hand corner of the wrappers or must be franked. Volumes There may be no variance in volumes and mass (volumes stated must be accurate). Articles sent All articles in a consignment must originate from the same sender. It is imperative that consignments are not combined, ie client A and B may not, through a third party (for example a mailing house) post joint consignments. Posting Consignments must be handed in -
Labels The prescribed labels (ie tracking, COD et cetera) must be affixed to each parcel.. Post Office income protection inspection test Every consignment posted must pass the Post Office income protection inspection test (posting, quality, quantity, addresscheck test). (Each category is fully outlined later in this document.) Noncompliance The personnel at the point where parcels are accepted perform an inspection to determine whether a delivery/posting/consignment meets all the criteria.
Electronic Bulk mail delivery note Parcels will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by an official, correctly completed electronic bulk mail delivery note with every truckload/consignment/delivery/posting. Note: No progressive postings are allowed without an official electronic bulk mail delivery note. Mailing list Parcels will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by a mailing list indicating full address particulars of the addressee and tracking numbers. |
